Non-Profit Activities
Dale serves as Vice-Chair of Stepping Forward LA and as Trustee of The Westland School.
Dale S. Miller was on the Board of Directors of the Center Theatre Group (the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre) for 7 years and served on the Finance and Governance Committees.
Dale served on the Board of Directors of Sherman Oaks Hospital, a non-profit hospital in Los Angeles for seven years. 
Dale was on the Advisory Board for a number of years for the Vaccine Development Institute at Pitzer College regarding the collaboration between the college and the University of Botswana to develop a vaccine for indigenous animal diseases.  Dale also was involved in various other charities, including Extraordinary Families and the 1939 Society.

 

Personal Background
Dale received his BA from the  University of California at Los Angeles, his JD from Pepperdine University, and received his LLM from New York University School of Law.

Professional

Dale is Co-Founder and Co-Manager of HIG Equity LLC, which is a merchant banking firm which holds interests primarily in the energy, infrastructure and health care sectors, including Babcock Power, Inc., a leading international engineering and technology company devoted to the building of power generation platforms for gas fired, coal fired, nuclear, and solar power plants (BPI).  HIG is the controlling shareholder of BPI.  Dale currently is a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Babcock Power, Inc.  Dale is also a Board Member of Thermal Engineering Inc., a BPI affiliate.Dale is Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Proneuron Biotechnologies, Inc., a biotechnology company which focused on developing therapies for diseases of the central nervous system and was the first company to perform a Phase 2 Clinical Trial under FDA regulations for acute spinal cord injury. Dale previously served as a Board Member of Anna’s Linens for over 20 years, which was one of the largest textile Retail Chains in the United States.
